Digital Logic Design Lab

In this Digital Logic Design Lab, students design combinational and sequential circuits to meet the given specifications.

They use discrete components as well as FPGA boards and tools to model, simulate and implement digital circuits.

There are 12 experiments in total and a 2-week mini-project where students apply all the knowledge that they gain in 12 experiments.

Equipment/components used here:

  • Digital Design Boards
  • Digital Logic ICs
  • Xilinx FPGA Boards
  • Desktop Computers
  • Oscilloscopes

Some sample Mini-Projects done by COE 203 students:

  • Scrolling text message
  • Ping-pong game
  • Digital clock
  • Vending machine
  • Reaction Timer
  • Simple Timer
  • Traffic Light Controller

Lab Safety:

Safety is a priority at KFUPM. Here students are also taught how to avoid accidents in the lab, and to respond promptly and appropriately in case of any emergency.
