Note:

  • Each student is expected to submit his detailed degree plan according to the above generic degree plan for approval by the department and the Deanship of Graduate Studies by the middle of the second semester from enrollment, after obtaining approval from his thesis advisor.
  • Students are required to adhere to the regulations of the degree plan. No relaxations will be given to any student, and the courses taken in conflict with the above will not be counted towards the degree.
  • The order of taking the courses can be different from the one above, but the students must take the core courses before the electives. 

    * From the same major area. A designated list of courses for each COE major area will be provided. These lists will include courses from COE and other related departments.

** From the other major areas.

 ***  COE 701, COE 702, or latter-grade courses from COE, ICS, EE, SE, or MATH.

*** One elective course can be taken from other departments, provided it is needed for the thesis research and is approved by the thesis advisor.

 

Note: At least 50% of the letter-grade courses (or 4 courses) in a degree plan must be COE courses.
